Welcome back to Torkel Brekke. Torkel, for those who haven't heard of him before for some reason, is a professor of religion and society at MF University of Applied Sciences in Oslo and one of Norway's leading researchers at the intersection of religion and politics. Brekke has a doctorate from Oxford and was previously a professor of
religious history and South Asian studies at the University of Oslo. Professor at Oslo MET and deputy director at the Institute for Peace Research Prio. He is affiliated with the Center for Extremism Research at the UiO think tank Sibita. He has written a number of books and is currently working on a brand new book, The Tide, which we
will talk about today, about anti-Semitism in Norway after October 7th. And a new English book that we will also talk about. Antisemitism and social democracy, which is also coming out in parallel. Norwegian book that we're going to talk about is only about 100 pages, it took me three years. It was actually supposed to be released last year, two years after the massacre, but it was a long time ago. So it's been years since things have gone a bit like this, partly in parallel, in fits and
starts. Simply put. It is a very strong book. I thought I'd start by reading the first part of the first chapter there and then we can talk about what you write about there, I thought. I have it in front of me. It's not out physically yet, so I have it in manuscript paper. Eh, so I'm going to read a little
