V is vision, A is alignment, E is execution. The vision sets the stage. What is it that we are actually trying to accomplish? Why are we trying to accomplish it? And why does it matter? So this is the context that people need in order to move something forward. Alignment is aligning your stakeholders to make sure that you have the right people involved to do the right things

at the right time. And once you have the vision that everybody has now aligned to, then you move into the E, which is execution. Once I understood this framework, it was very easy for me to diagnose the problem. The problem was everybody was in E, and there was no V, and there was no A.
