If you're a coach, consultant or agency owner, these are three signs that you're probably going to fail at whatever you're chasing and no, number one, isn't that you're lazy or undisciplined. Sign number one is that you're only doing it for the reward. For you, it's about the money, the status, the followers, the nice car or the screenshot that you can post on Instagram. Those
things can absolutely motivate you to start, but they're usually not enough to keep you going when you've worked for six months and nobody cares yet. If you're building an agency purely because agencies make money, coaching because you saw someone doing 100k months or building a personal brand because everyone told you that you need one, eventually the excitement is going to wear off.
Sign number two, you're teaching a life that you don't actually live. You're posting about discipline while being inconsistent yourself. You're teaching business strategies that you've never implemented yourself. You see, you might fool the algorithm, but eventually you won't fool the audience. The strongest personal brands are built around real expertise, real experiences, opinions, stories, and proof, and not a character you've created for Instagram. And sign number three,
you don't actually care about the craft. There's a big difference between discipline and repeatedly forcing yourself to do something that you fundamentally hate. Discipline is waking up and doing the work on the days you don't feel like doing something you ultimately care about.
