Forgiving yourself isn't just a nice idea. It's a mental health strategy that keeps you from slowly losing your sanity. Here's the real talk. You are not being hard on yourself for growth. Rather, you might be slowly destroying your sanity. We are told to take responsibility, own our mistakes, be better, beautiful. But many of us turn that into lifelong self-punishment.
And that doesn't make you wiser. It just makes you tired. Notice how you talk to yourself about your past. I should have known better. I ruined everything. This is all my fault.
