Let's say a bug causes data loss or

the app crashes. This states that you're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages and it caps your total liability at a small amount. Number two, you want an as-is disclaimer of warranties. This states the app is provided as-is and as available without warranties of any kind. Number three, an indemnification clause. That's a mouthful, but it requires the

user to cover your legal fees if their use of your app gets you sued. For example, if they post something defamatory on your app. Number four, termination rights. Gives you the right to suspend or terminate a user's account at your discretion. Number five, governing law and dispute resolution. Specifies which states and countries laws apply for your app and where disputes get resolved.

A lot of consumer apps also add a mandatory arbitration clause and class action waiver to avoid expensive class action lawsuits.
