If you have a more feisty, spirited child like I do, one that naturally pushes back, tests boundaries, seeks to be his own person, here are four things we talked about as he was growing up. You are so powerful and strong. That's a great thing. We just need to know when and how to use all that power for good.
I know saying no is sort of fun. Feels good. Feels powerful to you. I get it. Let's think together. Do we always have to say no to everything or maybe just sometimes? I bet it feels like I tell you what to do all the time. You are right. I do decide a lot.
Not everything, but a lot. Let's think about all the things you decide today, all on your own. There are a lot of those too. And lastly, even when we fight and don't agree, I love who you are and we are always okay.
