By contribution but you need to be careful because different contributions matter at different stages so again if you've known someone for a long time and you know that their heart is absolutely in it

they're gonna give it all split it evenly technical co-founder or complimentary skill set you need someone who covers off your areas of weakness you don't want someone who's as strong as you at the same thing you need someone who covers your weaknesses off because that's how you elevate the team someone you have worked with before or someone new someone you have worked with

before ideally you want to know how they have stressful situations project deadlines, when things fail, all of these are so important. Move fast on this decision or wait it out? Take your time, always take your time. These are things that are very very hard to reverse if you get them wrong so take your time and don't rush. Shared vision or shared values?

Ideally both but if I'm gonna pick one I would say shared values. At the end of the day people can build a company and come out with different stages if they want but if you have the same values you're going to enjoy building it together
