Can AI make us think more? You're listening to a song on the radio and it's pretty good. It really reminds you of someone else, but you can't really remember who. You look at the name on your dashboard, but you don't really recognize it. When the song is finished playing, the host says, That was AI.

Immediately, you get this bad taste in your mouth. Because you would never have guessed it. It seemed too far-fetched that a song with that sound could be generated by a machine. For the rest of the day, you fall into what can be best described as a mini-existential crisis. Fueled by AI. Think about who you are, what it means to be human, what would happen once the real world and the artificial world no longer can be separated, when they become one.

And it was a long time since you even thought about any of this. Is it so that AI can actually make us reflect more on our humanity? Can it make us more philosophical? There is a constant vertigo. Every time the machine manages to do one more thing we thought was ours, we go looking for what's left, which is exhausting.

But that vertigo can also be seen as the proof of you still having a self to lose. So keep questioning everything as if you're self depended on it.
