This is FCL, this is LCL. What's the difference? FCL stands for Full Container Load. You book and fill an entire shipping container exclusively with your own cargo. You pay for the whole container regardless of whether it's completely full and your goods travel without being mixed with anyone else's shipment. LCL stands for Less Than Container Load.
Your cargo shares container space with shipments from other businesses. You only pay for the volume your goods actually occupy, measured in cubic meters. FCL gives you lower cost per unit at high volumes and less handling risk since your goods stayed in one container the whole way. LCL is the better choice when your order volume isn't large enough
to justify the cost of a full container, but expect more handling along the way since shared shipments need to be consolidated before departure and broken down again on arrival. This is a 3PL. This is a 4PL. What's the difference? A 3PL, or third-party logistics provider, handles the physical operations of your supply chain.
