Christian energy drinks are a thing right now, and that's how you know religion is having a cultural comeback. Because when something enters the energy drink category, it is no longer a niche. We've already talked about the resurgence of religion, Catholic influencers, nun podcasts, religious raves, the Pope becoming an unlikely voice in the debate around AI. But this might be
the strangest sign yet. Brands like Yahweh, Agape, Praise, and Forgiven are now selling faith in a can. And the flavor names are chef's kiss, Berry Blessed, Preaching Peach, Mighty Mango, Blessed Berry, which sounds pretty ridiculous until you realize it makes perfect sense. Energy drinks are one of the defining product categories of Gen Z.
They're not really drinks anymore. They're identity markers, lifestyle brands, in a way, tribal symbols. So maybe the interesting question isn't why Christian energy drinks exist, but it's what it says about culture that they exist at all. Christianity spent 2,000 years spreading through churches, cathedrals, and missionaries. Now it's spreading through gas station fridges, one can of preaching peach at a time.
Religion hasn't just entered popular culture, it's entered the algorithm.
