So I always show you guys what the OR looks like when everything is prepared and open, but here's what it looks like before it's prepared. All the sterile equipment shows up in these trays and everything is sterile and completely packed and ready to go. So everything on the inside is completely clean. And then these scrub nurse or the scrub tech and the circulator usually come in and they open these in a sterile fashion in order to prepare the table, which is right over here.

and this is the table that we use to operate on. Today we are doing a spine case so this is a Jackson table. It's designed in such a way that it will put the person's spine into the most ideal curvature possible. The cool thing about it is that it is radiolucent which means that you can

take x-rays on this thing and these bars will not get in the way of being able to evaluate the spine. This is the C-arm. It is an x-ray that we use to be able to localize and do certain procedures and obviously you have the anesthesia station over here, the ventilator and whatever scary

gadgets that they have that we don't understand as surgeons and the patient will be brought back once everything is ready to go. This is how it looks before.
