I cried and I said to my husband, I can't teach anymore. Years ago I had this class. They should never have put all of these kids in the same class. I have one student that gave me this death look across the room when I would tell him to read during independent reading. I know I'm

cruel. I swear to you if looks could kill. I had a student who was diagnosed with ADHD and mom didn't want to medicate and that's her right and he sat right near me so that I could keep putting my hand on his desk saying okay okay sit down and I don't make kids sit when they're doing

independent work but when I'm teaching he needs to be seated so people behind him can see and I tried putting him in the back, but he was all over the back of the room because his poor little body could not control itself. I had another girl who was diagnosed with ADHD that the mom wouldn't

medicate again her right, but she couldn't progress as a reader. And this was third grade, and she was still at the end of first grade because she couldn't focus enough to finish a book. And she and the little guy were either best friends or enemies at any given point during the day. So there was a lot of conflict resolution going on. And then the two of them didn't get along with

this other kid who did have ADHD but was medicated But she still hadn learned not to tell people how much smarter she was than them And so she was still learning how to work with other students And then I had this one girl move in Maria in January The first day, she stuck her finger in that boy who sat next to me,

in his nose, because she didn't like how he looked at her. I told kids they had herpes, that they were stupid, that they smelled, that they were dumb, that they were dirty. She told one kid she was adopted like that's a bad thing. And it was all day long. And this was in a class of 26 students.
