If I could speak to my 14-year-old self, I don't think I would tell him everything is going to be okay. Because there will be things that won't be okay. There will be moments when you genuinely believe you are beyond saving. But I would tell him this. You survive. You survive all of it.

The grief won't disappear, but you learn how to carry it. The anger doesn't disappear, but it stops controlling your life. and one day, without even realizing it, you stop waking up wishing you weren't here. You don't become perfect or suddenly figure life out. You just keep going, one day at a time. And I would tell him that his father would be proud

because he kept getting back up even after everything around him kept bringing him down. and I would tell him that one day he will find people who truly see him and I would tell him something that took me years to finally understand is that you do not have to destroy yourself to prove that you are hurting.

You do not have to suffer alone to prove that you are strong and no matter how convinced you are that nobody understands you, you are not as alone as you think. you
