Jesus never talked about going to church. He never said to spend time in scripture. He never pointed to some faraway God who was going to come down and save you. He never said that he came here as a blood sacrifice required by God for us to be reconciled. No, he said, you are the light of the

world. The kingdom of God is in you. He never put himself on a pedestal or asked anyone to worship or praise him either. What he did say was, if you think I'm doing good things, you will do even greater things than these. That's the kind of guy he was. He never drew attention to himself.

He was always drawing attention to others. He never said, I will forgive you after I die on the cross. He said, you are forgiven because he knew people were living in shame and fear because of the systems they were enslaved by. He never came to show off his own divinity. He came to

remind us of our divinity. And he told us how to reach it, how to make it expand. It's all within you. Raise yourself up to the upper rooms. Practice the single eye in meditation and you'll fill with light and wisdom and power and understanding. That's the kind of guy Jesus was and no religion

has ever allowed him to be what he actually was. They've just added layers of rules and requirements and one religion in particular even turned him into a blood sacrifice. Even though Jesus himself said, my father desires mercy, not sacrifice. Christianity is the very same sort of gatekeeper that Jesus sought to expose and destroy.
