You did not choose to exist. You did not choose your time, your body, your language, your country. You arrived already here, already inside a world that was running before you came. We call this thrownness. You were thrown into existence, like a stone into water. But Dasein is not a stone. Dasein is always already engaged with its situation.

It finds itself in a mood, anxious, joyful, bored, restless. These moods are not decorations. They are how Dasein discovers the world. Before any thought, before any theory, mood has already disclosed reality to you. Dasein is always already in the world, not a subject who looks out at an external object. No. To be Dasein is to be involved, immersed always already with others, always already using things, always already somewhere, in some situation, with no exit from the world into a nowhere.

This is what I call being in the world. One hyphenated structure, inseparable. The world is not a container you are placed inside. The world is constitutive of what you are.
