Why do girls sometimes treat their boyfriend differently when their friends are around? It's usually not because she suddenly stopped liking him. It's because when her friends are there, her brain shifts into social awareness mode. She's thinking about how she looks to her group, and whether she seems too attached, too soft, or too vulnerable.
