This is what moving to London and starting a new job in fintech looks like. Two months ago, I decided to sell what's left of my soul and become a fully-fledged corporate minion. That being said, we all know that the 9-5 routine was built for amateurs. In other words, if you're not waking up for a 5-9 gym routine every morning before work,

then you must have emotionally fulfilling relationships and an unwavering self-esteem that's not tied to the validation of random strangers. Whilst that might sound appealing to you, let's face it, working out an overpriced bougie commercial gyms before the daily rat race begins is of course the only legitimate way to scout for those elusive and well-groomed eligible bachelors.

Particularly in a city such as London which is swarming with commitment-phobic, video-gaming-obsessed man-children, whose idea of a deep conversation is recounting last weekend's pub call in excruciating detail. One thing I love about working in the city is that I get to dress as my alter ego every day, even if it means my heels are plotting a hostile takeover of my feet.

Obviously, after a hard day of work and being the last man standing in the office, I had to change into more suitable footwear, partly because of the long journey ahead of me, and partly because I didn't want to run the risk of my hinge date being shorter than me. If I had to choose one word to describe my experience as a corporate minion in London so far,

it would be winning.
